It can be cut.  The circuit of the LED light strip is designed through series/parallel connection, but the rules for how it can be cut are different. This depends on the design of the LED light strip. Generally, the manufacturers of LED light strips are producing LED lights. When it comes to strips, they have circuit rules for customizing LED strips according to the requirements. LED lamp beads are also used according to needs. LED lamp beads have different working voltage limits, so the LED lamp strips are based on the voltage of the lamp beads used. Different, the cutting position will also be different.

 Example 1: 12-volt LED light strips normally come in two specifications, with single lights and one cut, or three lights and one cut.

  1. First of all, we will introduce the single-lamp one-cut method. It uses a 9-volt working voltage lamp bead. In this way, a 9-volt lamp bead and a resistor can be connected in series to reduce the voltage, and one lamp-one cut can be achieved.
  2. That is to cut three lamps at once. He uses three 3-volt lamp beads. These three lamps are connected in series with a resistor to reduce the voltage, so that three lamps can be cut at one position.

 Example 2: There are many specifications for 24-volt LED light strips. The positions where 24-volt LED light strips can be cut on the market can dazzle you. 24-volt LED light strips include single-lamp-one-cut, two-lamp-one-cut, and three-lamp-one-cut.   1. One-cut operation for a single lamp. It uses 18V to 21V working voltage lamp beads and resistors connected in series to reduce the voltage. This can achieve one-lamp one-off operation.
  2. How to make two lights and one cut LED light strip? He uses two 9-volt working voltage lamp beads and resistors connected in series to reduce the voltage, so that a two-lamp and one-cut design can be achieved.
  3. How to make three lights and one cut LED light strip? He uses three lamp beads with a working voltage of 6 volts and connects them in series with resistors to reduce the voltage, so that a three-lamp-one-cut design can be achieved.
  4. The six-lamp-one-cut LED light strip uses six 3-volt lamp beads. The six lamp beads and resistors are connected in series to reduce the voltage, so that a three-lamp one-cut design can be achieved.
  5. What about the one with seven lights and one cut? The seven-lamp-one-cut LED light strip consists of seven 3-volt lamp beads and resistors connected in series, so that a seven-lamp one-cut design can be achieved.

 In fact, the LED light strips will be marked at the beginning of the design. Each string of lights will have a straight line where it can be cut. You only need to cut it at this position. If the cutting position is not at a straight line, it will cause a set of LED lamp beads to be cut. No light condition.

Precautions for cutting

  1. When cutting LED light strips, please note that they must be cut vertically.
  2. Pay attention to the different cuts of LED light strip plates. In order to meet the thermal conductivity and heat dissipation performance of LED light strips, many LED light strips now mostly use aluminum substrates. Aluminum substrates are conductive. When shearing, It is very likely to cause a short circuit, so we need to check whether the copper foil is connected to the aluminum substrate below after cutting. If the links are connected, we need to separate them to light up the LED light.
